From a Wedding Set to a Statement Piece

There is something deeply moving about honouring where you have been while allowing yourself to become who you are now.

Recently, I had the privilege of creating a custom ring for a client who came to me with her original wedding set. A beautiful natural diamond solitaire engagement ring paired with a simple wedding band set with nine diamonds. These were pieces filled with history, love and meaning. She still treasures them deeply.

But she also had a dream.

She wanted a ring that carried her story forward. One that respected the past while reflecting the confidence, presence and individuality she brings into the world today.

Together, we decided not to add another piece, but to transform what already existed. The goal was to reimagine her wedding set into a single statement ring that felt powerful, intentional and completely her.

The design blends three signature Ubykate elements. The ease and comfort of a signet style silhouette. A carefully carved interior that allows for natural finger swelling and everyday wear. And a surface so richly diamond set that the gold almost disappears beneath the stones.

This ring escalated beautifully.

It began as a classic wedding set. A solitaire diamond and nine smaller diamonds.

Then came the question. What if it was oval?

Then, can we add more diamonds?

Then more diamonds.

Then, what if we use my original diamonds too?

Honestly, I fully supported the journey.

In the end, over 170 natural diamonds were woven together. Old and new stones sit side by side, creating something entirely its own. A ring that reflects love, longevity and individuality without losing its emotional grounding.

And just like that, the Magical Bling Ring was born.

This is what happens when sentiment meets bold decision making. When just a little extra becomes intentional diamond maximalism done right. Not for the sake of excess, but as a celebration of personal evolution.

This ring is not about replacing the past. It is about carrying it forward in a way that feels aligned with who you are now.
