A Legacy Shaped in Stone

A Diamond That Carries a Story

After 24 years in the jewellery industry, there are moments that feel quietly significant. Not because they are loud or showy, but because they carry the weight of everything that came before them.

This is one of those moments.

The Custom Tri-Cut Diamond has officially been certified by the International Gemological Institute. It is a milestone for UbyKate, and for us personally, it feels like coming full circle.

Where It All Began

Long before there were collections or stockists, there was a workbench in a suburban garage.

In those early days, each piece was made by hand, often stamped with words that held meaning for the person wearing it. Jewellery was never just about adornment. It was about connection. About capturing a feeling or a memory and holding onto it.

As the brand grew, so did the reach of those pieces. What started as something small and personal found its way into homes and stores across Australia. Yet the intention never changed. It was always about creating something that felt like it belonged to the wearer.

Returning to Creativity

In 2011, after seeing signature designs copied, there was a turning point.

Instead of looking outward, Kate chose to return inward. Back to the part of the work that felt most true. That path led to coloured gemstones and eventually to a partnership with a family run gemstone cutting company in Bangkok.

Together, we created the Original Tri-Cut.

It was different from anything else at the time. A shape that played with light in a way that felt both structured and organic. Over the years, it became something people recognised instantly as UbyKate.

The Evolution Into Diamond

The Custom Tri-Cut Diamond is a continuation of that idea.

Inspired by the original silhouette, this new cut introduces additional precision facets designed to enhance the way light moves through the stone. The result is a diamond that feels alive, with depth and character that sets it apart from traditional cuts.

It is not just a technical achievement. It is an emotional one.

To take something that began as a personal exploration of shape and translate it into a certified diamond cut is something we do not take lightly.

A Meeting of Craft and Legacy

Jewellery often marks the moments we want to remember. A commitment, a milestone, a turning point in life.

Designing a diamond cut carries that same sense of permanence.

This is not about following trends. It is about creating something that will still feel relevant years from now. Something that can be passed on, carrying its story with it.

The Custom Tri-Cut Diamond represents both where UbyKate has come from and where it is going.

Why This Matters

There are many beautiful diamonds in the world.

What makes this one different is not just the cut. It is the intention behind it. The years of refinement. The decision to stay true to a creative vision even when it would have been easier not to.

For those who choose it, it becomes more than a stone. It becomes part of their story.

A Full Circle Moment

After 24 years, this moment feels familiar in the best way.

It brings everything back to the beginning. A creative idea, shaped slowly over time, now realised in a form that will last for generations.

The Custom Tri-Cut Diamond is entirely our own. And in many ways, it feels like the most honest expression of UbyKate yet.
