Why Pink Opal and Rose Quartz?

Because Pink and Mum is the perfect combo!

As our Everyday Cocktail Collection has grown, I just had to add a gorgeous pink stone.

When I started doing my research I fell hard for very pale Rose Quartz. Rose quartz is a cloudy crystal and has many interesting inclusions. The bigger the carat of the stone the more mystery and depth it seems to have. (And our Everyday Cocktail Ring stones are LARGE)

The Ancients used rose quartz as a seal to signify ownership, and Egyptians believed the stone could prevent ageing.

This stone is believed to have a distinct calming and soothing effect on the person that wears it.

Just by holding a piece of Rose quartz you can help yourself in times of emotional turmoil. (or wear a rose quartz Everyday Cocktail Pendant next to your heart)

Rose quartz encourages forgiveness, love and friendship.

Known as the “love stone,” it was said to balance the emotions and to heal anger and disappointment.

While learning about Rose Quartz I stumbled across the lesser known and very unique Pink Opal.

And our pink opal is a natural stone that is hand selected and not heat treated in any way. It's naturally occurring so each stone has it's own unique set of colour flashes and inclusions. Pink Opal is less opal looking and more like a gorgeous pink colour with some flashes of white and infrequently yellow.

Until recently Pink Opal has only been mined in Peru, but recently there has been a very exciting find of Pink Opal in WA!!

I can't wait to see if we can use Australian Pink Opal in our future designs.

Pink Opal soothes and mellows the wearer, it is the most powerful stone associated with the heart and is often called the Penance Stone.

We've been so excited about our pinks stones and mothers day that we got together with the Swiish girls Sally Obermeder and Maha Koraiem to donate 15% of all our Pink stone sales from now until Mothers Day.

Women's cancer is the mother of all fights and we are doing our small bit to raise money for the Pink Hope Foundation.

So buy a pair of Stud earrings, a necklace or a Cocktail ring from our Pink Hope Collection and you will also be donating to the mother of all fights.
